TED Hair Restoration
Meet TED!
Alma TED (Trans-Epidermal Delivery) is a non-invasive hair restoration treatment that uses ultrasound waves and pneumatic air technology to deliver a growth factor + peptide serum, uniquely formulated to optimize and stimulate hair follicles for growth. This robust combination is designed to improve hair density, thickness, and overall hair health.
TED works by:
Patented Technology: Ultrasound waves and pneumatic air create microscopic channels in the skin, allowing hair growth factors, peptides, and vital nutrients to penetrate deep into the hair follicles—continuing to work for months post-treatment.
Reducing shedding: Immediately anchoring and strengthening existing hair roots into your follicles, prolonging your hair growth cycle, and increasing the cumulation of hair from day one.
Strengthening hair follicles, fibers, and collagen matrix: The ultrasound waves and peptide serum activate hair follicles, promoting fuller hair, stronger keratin fibers, and restoring collagen which aids in anchoring the hair follicles in place.
Stimulates Blood Flow: Improves blood circulation to the papilla (hair root’s blood supply), providing essential nutrients and oxygen.

Treatment Protocol
A typical Alma TED treatment starts with a consultation to ensure this treatment is appropriate for your type of hair loss. Three initial sessions are required to ensure optimal results. These treatments are scheduled in advance, one month apart for 3 consecutive months. The number of follow-up and maintenance sessions beyond the initial treatments varies depending on the results at month 4. While follow-up treatments vary to achieve desired results, maintenance treatments can average 1-2 visits per year to maintain results.
Each treatment begins with a scalp analysis using a trichoscope to assess the condition of your follicles, hair, and scalp surface. Photos of the areas of concern are taken for documentation of the starting point, and then compared to resultant observations and changes in appearance. The TED treatment, including TED+ Growth Serum, is administered. Clients must come to their appointments with clean, dry hair and should not wash, wet, or sweat for 24 hours post treatment. A pre-service shampoo & blowydry may be added to the appointment for an additional cost.
Side Effects
Alma TED is generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects. Some side effects may include mild redness or tingling during treatment.
Recommended Add-ons
Scalp Restoration Treatments between TED appointments are suggested for reducing build-up and eliminating any additional barriers to treatment. Scalp Rebalancing treatments build scalp health and hair strength, balance the scalp’s natural sebum, and reduce inflammation. Each rebalancing treatment is one hour and includes: scalp balancing and gentle exfoliating serum, shampoo, hair strengthening serum or deep conditioner, topical growth serum, simple blowdry, and 20 minutes of medical-grade red light therapy.
Low Level Light (Red Light) Therapy, whether done at home or at the salon, medical-grade red light therapy is encouraged between appointments. Wait 48 hours after your TED treatment to apply the red light. I recommend the LightStim brand for the correct wavelengths for hair growth and best light and diode quality. I am happy to review other products you may already have at home! High quality red light therapy (in the 630-660nm range) encourages hair growth by increasing bloodflow to the area, delivering oxygen, vitamins and minerals to the appropriate depth of the hair follicles, boosting the mitochondria for healthier cell production.
Candidates
Alma TED is suitable for individuals experiencing hair loss or thinning due to age, genetics, hormonal changes, weight loss, stress, some illnesses, and nutritional deficiencies. TED treatments are are also suitable for those averse to needles or surgery, and as a maintenance routine for hair transplant patients after the transplant is fully healed.
Individuals with scarring alopecias and some systemic alopecias are not ideal candidates for TED. However, scalp health is important for those experiencing these types of hair loss, and other scalp care treatments are available to benefit those with scarring alopecias.

Results
Most TED clients report an immediate reduction in hair shedding (noticeably less hair in the shower and hairbrush) within the first 4-6 weeks, due to hair bulbs being anchored more firmly in the scalp. Clients may notice the new hair growth “glow” within 12 weeks after the first treatment (around 1” of new growth that “glows” in the light). Hair will continue to thicken as the new growth lengthens and hair strands individually become thicker and more fortified.
It is important to understand that new hair will not grow from follicles that are scarred over and no longer alive. Hair can only grow from functioning follicles, which includes miniaturized follicles due to DHT (dihydrotestosterone), a result of AGA (androgenetic alopecia / female or male pattern baldness). Optimal results may take several months to achieve and it is advised to continue supporting treatments and use of recommended products.
